becoming one of the first batch in the province and the only awarded entity in Lishui City
to receive the title of Characteristic Industry Engineers Collaborative Innovation Center.

It is a comprehensive innovation service platform centered on engineers, integrating government, industry, university, research and application resources. It provides enterprises with services such as talent sharing, training and education, and collaborative innovation, empowering high-quality industrial development.
Longquan is home to more than 200 automotive air conditioning component enterprises, including over 50 above-scale enterprises, forming a complete industrial chain. As the fastest-growing, highest-contributing and most promising industry in Longquan, it is gradually transforming from the traditional sector to the new energy sector, and from component manufacturing to complete system integration.
In recent years, relying on its characteristic and advantageous industries, Longquan has highlighted the synergy of government, industry, university and research, vigorously promoted the construction of the Engineers Collaborative Innovation Center, and built an "incubator" for outstanding engineering talents. Leveraging universities including Zhejiang University, China Jiliang University, Xi'an Jiaotong University and Lishui University, the city has carried out in-depth city-university cooperation, attracting 43 professional teams and gathering 317 engineers. The center focuses on tackling technical difficulties for enterprises, pain points in industrial upgrading and bottlenecks in public services, and collaboratively solves key constraints restricting industrial development.
Meanwhile, the Longquan Automotive Air Conditioning Industry Engineers Collaborative Innovation Center has joined hands with think tanks inside and outside the province to build a high-level expert team, supporting the high-quality development of technical talent training for the auto parts industry. By 2024, the Lishui Intermediate Evaluation Committee for Auto Parts had accredited 164 engineers and assistant engineers for Longquan.
Previously, enterprises fought alone and faced difficulties in recruiting talents and conquering core industrial technologies. Many small and medium-sized enterprises could not attract, afford or retain high-level engineers. With the Engineers Collaborative Innovation Center, a multi-pronged approach has been adopted to build a "talent pool". For technical problems that cannot be solved by individual enterprises, the center leverages its resource aggregation advantages to promote collaborative research between center engineers and enterprise technicians, supporting industrial transformation, upgrading and accelerated development.
"With the matchmaking of the Engineers Collaborative Innovation Center, our enterprise has successfully connected with the R&D team of Lishui University and jointly developed an automated production line with independent invention patents," said Wang Mingyue, Deputy General Manager of Zhejiang Fanghong Air Conditioning Equipment Co., Ltd. Compared with traditional production lines, the new line has achieved a 30% efficiency improvement and better product stability. Meanwhile, the Series 5 aluminum sleeves produced on this line have achieved a qualitative leap in corrosion resistance compared with traditional Series 3 aluminum sleeves.
Relying on the Automotive Air Conditioning Industry Innovation Service Complex, the Longquan Automotive Air Conditioning Industry Engineers Collaborative Innovation Center has also built a "five-in-one" innovation platform integrating quality inspection, technology R&D, talent training, scientific and technological services, and product exhibition. Equipped with the most advanced automotive air conditioning testing equipment in China, it can conduct 200 testing items, making it a third-party testing institution with the most testing items, the widest testing scope and the strongest professional capabilities in China's automotive air conditioning industry. It has established industry-university-research cooperation with 75 universities and research institutes at home and abroad, and launched talent platforms including the Longquan Innovation Center of Zhejiang University and the Longquan Innovation Center of China Jiliang University. It has formulated 2 national and industrial standards and 6 "Made in Zhejiang" standards.
Expert Teams Settled in the Engineers Collaborative Innovation Center
Statistics show that in the past three years, engineers stationed at the Longquan Automotive Air Conditioning Industry Engineers Collaborative Innovation Center have solved 12 common technical problems, 33 specific technical problems and achieved 39 technology commercialization achievements for the industry, effectively boosting industrial transformation and upgrading. Going forward, Longquan will continue to promote the aggregation of engineering and technical talents, provide services for enterprise innovation and development, and empower industrial transformation and upgrading. It will further explore innovative training systems and models, accelerate the cultivation of outstanding engineering talents matching the needs of Longquan's industrial development, and serve the high-quality development of the industry.
